Garden Party Décor Tips

As summer is just around the corner, spending time outside and soaking up that Vitamin D is at the top of everyone’s list. So why not go that extra mile to make each day more memorable then the last?

Here are our top 5 tips when to make your garden party stand out from the rest:

1. Natural neutrals

A neutral palette is always a winner and what better way to incorporate neutrals than in a natural environment. By using a natural colour palette, you can create an inviting yet calming space. Think dried flowers, linen cushions, throws and wicker placemats. This is a great choice for an afternoon tea party to sit back and relax.

2. Its all about lighting

Atmosphere is everything when it comes to hosting a garden party. No one wants to be blinded by a spotlight or sit in the dark by one small candle, we want a cosy atmosphere where you can feel relaxed but still see where you’re putting your drink down. If you have a pergola, why not hang fairy lights or lanterns up to create a more Europe vibe and you can always introduce some colour into this lighting if you choose. Solar garden lights also look great on those summer nights.

3. Flower power

Summer brings some of the most gorgeous florals into bloom, so lets embrace them! We love a mix-match of flowers and these always look great in reused bottles and jars. Flowers can be an inexpensive option to brighten your exterior décor – go for a walk around your local area and parks - daisies, wild flower and even babies breath can look beautiful when bunched right.

4. Bring the indoors out

Outdoor furniture can be expensive and sometimes uncomfortable, and not all furniture can weather all seasons – so why not bring the indoor furniture outside? Recreate your dining room on the grass or deck for an elegant dinner party. Just make sure you have some strong people around for the heavy lifting!

5. Picnic perfect

Who doesn’t love getting back to nature and grounding themselves whilst enjoying a culinary spread? To make the picnic experience more comfortable consider putting a rug or sheet down, as well as cushions for extra support. We love using old wood palettes as makeshift picnic tables as they are the perfect height for a backyard picnic!
